LG620G and Two Different Zip Codes

We spend each winter in Safford Arizona zip code 85546 and each summer in Monroe Washington, zip code 98272. We currently have a cell phone with area code 425, which is from the Everett Washington area. I know the phone will work in both zip codes and I want to buy the phone online, but I need to know if I can activate the phone and import my existing cell phone number to the LG620G even though we are not in Washington State at present time. As long as the phone number is active in the system, we can transfer the phone number to the new phone even if you are currently in a different zip code.
